Biomedical informatics (BMI) is “the interdisciplinary field that studies and pursues the effective uses of biomedical data, information, and knowledge for scientific inquiry, problem solving, and decision making, motivated by efforts to improve human health”(AMIA). Cornell BMI's unique mission is to educate and spur interest for Biomedical Informatics through events and workshops such as Faculty Seminars. Such events and activities would help them stay abreast of the state of the art and prepare them for their future endeavors in the field.
